This isn't very interesting for my first blog, but it is the first thing that came to mind. I had a recent biopsy on a spot I've been tracking that is on my face. It came up as cancer (SCC) after years of being 'pre cancer'.
I shouldn't be terribly surprised, but the "C" word is still unsettling.
About 10 days after I received the diagnosis, I got a letter from The American Cancer Society seeking a donation. Interesting since I've never gotten a mailing from them in the past! Are medical facilities selling off our names when we come up malignant? I find it hard to believe that my dermatologist would do that, and I'm not sure the testing facility would have the patient info including the address.
I don't like to be paranoid or cynical, but I think this is at least highly suspicious!

Hey Dave.
We have some close friends whose son had Leukemia when he was young and recently the dad had cancer removed as well. I will ask them if it is common practice for folks who are diagnosed to be added to the ACS list.
What a scary thing to go through! Thinking positive thoughts for you!
Hi Connie,
